Summer is a time of extremes. On one hand, it is a time of enjoyment and pleasure, where people seek that Instagram-worthy photo on a yacht or at a beach house, or that moment in nature that everyone experiences as a vacation. Some even get bored of so much pleasure. On the other hand, however, in another part of the world, there are tsunamis, wildfires, droughts, and floods, which also end up being worthy of Instagram photos. It is a strange world we live in.
In this context, one might wonder to what extent the planet and society deserve summer.
Summer is a time of great consumption and, at the same time, it is also a time of environmental inequality.
In this sense, summer is a moment that reflects the contradictions of contemporary society.
Is it necessary to reflect on summer? Or should we keep living it?
